I see the system before I see the object.

Before I design anything, I want to understand how it actually works — not just what it looks like, but why it fails, why it frustrates people, and what's really going on underneath. I think in systems: the parts, the people, the context they sit in, and how all of it connects.

That's the lens I bring to every project, especially the ones where a small oversight can genuinely change how someone experiences something in their day. I'm not interested in design that just looks resolved. I want it to work, quietly and reliably, for the person who actually has to use it.

Good design, to me, isn't the final shape. It's everything you understood before you got there.
